Finally, it’s over, Christmas 2008! Damn present gathering, eating all day and snow shovel… wait! Snow? Where the fuck is the snow? We didn’t have any snow on Christmas eve. Yesterday on 25th of December, the snow finally started to fall and the landscape looks very nice as soon as the sun came out.
It was a nice Christmas eve, but let’s start from the beginning. Because there were several Christmas parties to attend!
First, there was the campus asylum party. The IT party took place at the same location as the marketing one. But there was a slight difference. We had to sit in a passage room without any table cloth or cushions on the seats and we drank the alternative to IT beverage (aka coffee) which was beer! Marketing and Sales celebrated at a separate room with nice decorated tables and they drank wine. Do you get the pattern? We as productive IT imps are definitely at a lower level as the lazy, feudal marketing stuff. Just like in a company, don’t you think?
Ok been there, done that, the next feast was the Ninja party. Seven partly weird dishes where served. You can have a look the chicken hearts or pig tongue at the ninja gallery. The also served a house beer which tasted a lot like pure yeast. Although I was quite hungry after the X-Mess training that day, I wasn’t able to finish all courses and the mango mackerel had to leave my table half finished.
After I have won the fight against the headache I attended the company’s party. DAMN that one was lame again. Well, only 50% productive personnel claims it’s toll. Boss, boss-tress and secretary left early and the programming part of the company went for some beer to the next bar.
Then two full days of family feast started. There was so much to eat that I can’t move freely now. Just great. On Monday we get new windows at a flat in one of the nearby bigger cities. I’m very interested in how much dirt and dust they will produce.
Well, I think that’s it for now, have a happy new year!
Since Fable 2, I realized that I need my own Xbox 360. The funny thing about it is, my copy of Fable doesn’t work. The crappy piece of shit stops loading certain areas. Nevertheless, the game is really great! There are several ways to complete the game and you are able to play after you’ve completed the game.
Like I said, Fable is down so I needed a new game. Fortunately Gears of War 2 came out last week. Pretty nice game too and it’s definitely a nasty one. There are scenes that I nearly couldn’t watch. I’m totally ok with blasting someone the head of or cutting those bloody locust in two, but seeing people being tortured is nothing for my nerves.
Now some words about the training. At the moment, I’m pretty stuck with work and campus asylum. So I’m trying to improve my basics at home. It’s not that good but I think it helps keeping my ninja movements at a certain level. The good thing about this is, that my shoulder can get better faster.
In case you’re one of the people trying desperately learning Japanese, have a look at one minute languages
First things first: My bloody shoulder still hurts! It’s been a week now and it’s starting to turn yellow so it’s either rotting of, or getting better. Nevertheless, I’ll be back in the dojo on Wednesday.
Additionally, by bike just broke down. In the moment I wanted to flee from the tram and started to pedal, the crappy bearing broke. Pretty nice sound ^^. They told me it will be repaired by Wednesday.
Back to the topic: FABLE 2
Well, it turned out to be a pretty cool game! I like the fight and spell system. No mana, more slicing! I still don’t know how to do chained attacks (or I just don’t know that I do it ^^) but I completed the undead round at the boilng pot within seconds. Also the jobs, buying and renting stores and so on is better than the last time. EVERYTHING is better than the last time. I don’t now why, but I like trashing those stupid gargoyles.
Mood: If you state "brute force is no solution" you don't use enough of it
Hi all
Finally, NOMA08 is over and the 14 martial arts attracted enough people to collect 2000€ for the Odilien primary school.
It was a pretty nice event, quite all groups got better within the last two years. Some of them I still don’t understand but hey, I’m that into things like rules and so on…
Nevertheless nobody got hurt and the world record of breaking 41 plastic chop sticks within 60 seconds got broken to.
“Nobody got hurt?” you say? Well, that’s technically at least partly true. I hurt my left should quite bad at 18:20. We tried the triple layer jump and somehow I hit The Viech as well as Mr. Ukemi and got turned a bit or whatever. I still can’t move my arm without pain. Since we had to perform at 19:30 or something this was quite bad for me. I couldn’t let my team down so “I fought through the pain” (quote from Gears of War). My rolling and kamaes sucked but at least my ukemis where ok (at least the things that where ukemis). Didn’t feel a thing. Must be the adrenaline… damn that’s a nice peace of creation, thanks god!
After watching the video, I realized a few things. First, I don’t cover myself enough at tsuki and I had a terrible reaction at the sempo keri. But, we survied ^^.
